Looking For More Info. On These Searchlights

I have acquired these searchlights from a lighting company who no longer needed them. I can not find any information about them. I am assuming that the manufacturer "USAsearchlights" is no longer in business. One searchlight seems to work. I am not sure how many hours the bulb has on it. The hour meter does not seem to work. I am not impressed with the brightness. It could just be the power source that was the problem though. The second searchlight has a broken bulb. It just arcs when I turn it on. Any information on these would be appreciated.

I don't have specific info for these lights, just some thoughts on Short arc lights in general. If you are seeing arcing during the ignition sequence, then the lamp may have lost its gas fill, no gas, no ignition. It might also be not enough starting power is being supplied to the lamp. Have you tried engaging both the 2K and the 3K switches together during start-up to see if that makes a difference? Does the arc gap in the arcing lamp look larger than in the working lamp? You could try swapping the arcing lamp into the working light. If it does not ignite, then you indeed have a failed lamp. Can you measure your input Voltage and Amps to see if the power supply is pulling the proper amount of wattage? Be very careful handling these very high pressure lamps. They are dangerous and can explode with significant force. Use a full face shield and some welding leathers to protect yourself. I get hot flashes when I handle them!
