A friend at work who owns a wire cutting machine (EDM) cut this form tool from HSS (high speed steel) for me.
These balls will be for the prototype "minT mount".
Hope they work out.

What is the "normal" name for such a fitting? They must be available for purchase somewhere, they look like stuff I have seen before, and is a handy mount I think

Ball and socket? We tried to buy them... and similar stuff does exist. But stuff JUST like this certainly doesn't!

The RAM mounting system for GPS and other items on motorcycle handlebars has a ball and socket that might be readily adaptable. The ball is considerably larger but it's made out of something like nylon so very trouble free.
