My wife gave me this thing and I could not put it down. So I decided to modify it the way I wanted it
Machined the body focusing threads off so it would be a push pull focus instead of twist.
Machined some titanium parts – big button, quick grip focusing ring, bezel and finger grip.
Machined the tail cap for a new clicky and recessed it farther in to accept the longer battery configuration.
Machined a new battery housing to screw in the tail cap to accept 2*CR123 and hold in the clicky parts. was 3*AAA
Machined the heat sink to accept a new 3-mode driver. Hi/Med/Low
I did try to install a XP-G R5 led but the stock one was brighter and put it back in, I think the view angle from one to the other made the difference. I would like to make it even brighter if anyone as any suggestions.
Anyway this turned out to be my favorite light out of all my other lights because of the focusing mechanism and it feels grate in the hand.
