I was doing some light shopping this morning and noticed new Eveready Gold alkaline batteries. 10 year shelf life and leak resistant design. They were almost a buck a battery though. I had some trash three lights this year from leaks. The AAA and D were made in USA but AA was from Indo and 9V was somewhere in asia.

My coolest flashlight of 2023 was plural. My buddy Ollie McTwist shared his strike of minimag's from the mid 1980's. A plain 1985 model, a camo non painted lettering on the bezel and a GM Parts Fabrication both from 1986. All new in package.

Back on topic...these cells started showing up at my local Dollar General a couple of years ago. I deployed the 9V version in all 4 of my smoke detectors 18 months ago and they are all still in service. That's great performance from an inexpensive cell, and I'll buy more when the time comes for new cells.
