Newly Enlightened
Hello everyone!
My next little mod was for a Lummi Raw. Initially, I just received this light to center the LED correctly. But after disassembling it and seeing how "unusual" the LED was mounted, I decided to build a completly new drop-in.
Following my little build-log:
The thermal transfer ability of the original one is really limited.
As new PCB, I used the one made of copper (without dielectirc) from LED-Tech and reduced it in size to fit the new drop-in.
The PCB was glued into the new massive drop-in using Arctic Silver, centered by a handmade shade/reflector.
The Raw was much brighter with the new drop-in, thanks to much higher optical efficiency of the "mule"/small reflector setting.
Here are also some pictures of a second, direct-drive (up to 3A) and made of copper drop-in: Click!
Hope you liked it!
Regards,
Vinz
