Potting TIR lens

I'm looking for advice on how to 'pot' - encapsulate in resin an LED/lens assembly. I'm using the TIR Avago lens -

It's housed in a small tube and is a bad weather rear light for race track vehicles. The potting holds the LED/lens and mounting bush inside the tube plus it reduces the operating temperature of the LED - So it's essential for the design.

I have found of course that the potting drastically reduces the output of the LED as it interferes with the reflective action of the lens. There is no practical way of preventing the potting sitting on the back of the lens - I'm wondering if a mirrored coating of some kind on the back of the lens - Chrome effect paint? - Will sort the problem?

Any other lateral thinking ideas gratefully accepted!
