I've been waiting for someone to coordinate a local get together. Unfortunately I was just informed that we are having family over around 5. If I could break away it wouldn't be until after 7 or so; is that too late?

SheDevil PM sent
Come on over, its just good and dark about then.

Oh, I can't resist...

My house smells so freaking good right now!

I have pulled pork cooking in a crock pot and the BBQ cooking away on the tri-tip roast.

I talked the wife into coming along, so that's +1 from what I said before.

The M@g D Hotwire Regulator prototype is up and working, so I plan to bring it along.

-- Alan

Wife is not feeling well today, probably -1 there.

Hotwire Regulator is charging, should be ready.

I have an allergy to walnuts, pecans and hazelnuts so I need some warning about any dishes that have them.

Thanks,

-- Alan

Thank You Vicky & Kevin for being such a Grreat Host.
This is by far the most "family oriented" flash-a-holic get together I've ever been to.
Andrew and Julia are still up playing with the gun. Thanks Harry.

The food was great! The friend and conversation was just awesome & non-stop.

It's also probably the most photograph / video get together ever.
D90, A350, and a bunch of PnS, phoneCam. It's contentious with the Vegas Shot show.

You know, I only realized that for the entire duration of 5 hrs I didn't have anything to drink. I just realized that right before I left. I chugged down 2 can of pomagranite then got home chug down on 2x 12oz bottle of water. You know I'll be up late tonight.

SheDevil & weedle256,

Thanks for hosting. I had a great time

. It was really fun blowing up stuff in your back yard

. Next time I'll bring the thermite. It was also a lot of fun lighting up the block in front of your house

.

The food was fantastic. I ought to know, I ate way too much of it.

SheDevil & weedle256, thank you so much for hosting this get together. Your generosity in opening up your home was just amazing.

For me, attending my first flashaholic gathering, it was a night of wonderful food, excellent lights and the most awesome people. Being able to play with all the lights (and acquire a Draco from modamag) and hang out with a bunch of excellent people was definitely a memorable experience. :twothumbs

So, when is the next get together? ;) :grin2:

modamag, nice pics. Btw, hope your wife feels better soon.

Shedevil and Weedle256, thank you for hosting an amazingly fun get-together. Like I said...you guys are a hoot. Food was great, people were even greater. I learned so much tonight about lights, but learned even more about the benefits of new friendships.

Flashlights, geocaching, telescopes, flammable powders, cameras and plastic toy guns flying everywhere....what more could a party ask for?

To those of you that I met and spoke with for the first time...I truly enjoyed the conversation and laughs. If I start asking everyone too many questions about lights and stuff...well, I warned you. I actually already have questions for most of you, but I'll PM each of you seperately otherwise this would be one long hunkin post.

This was my first flashaholic party but won't be my last by far.

Thanks again,

-elumen8 aka Jamie

ps..I'll post photos up as soon as I figure out how...I told ya I had a lot to learn lol

Thank you SheDevil and weedle256 for hosting!

I can't believe the turnout. There is no way your old place could hold so many so it was indeed wise to wait for a bigger house before hosting your first CPF get-together.

Well my telescope didn't stand a chance against all the other interesting things going on so we didn't get it in play. When the International Space Station appeared I did try to get the scope locked on but the station passed by so fast and the trees were mostly in the way. :sigh:
It was however big and bright for about 30 seconds which was really cool just to see with your eyes.

I did take a few pics with my camera phone. Here is your host SheDevil "almost" in the crossfire of a few light guns.

The dining room table (not for eating, this is CPF ya know).

I really enjoyed Jim's chemical demonstration on weedle's lawn. :duck: :poof:

It was so bright and hot that it ate through the metal tray it was mixed on.
In case anyone wants to know that's not weedle you hear laughing when his lawn catches fire. :goodjob: Jim :lolsign:

Thanks - we had a great time. My son had so much fun I had to actually stop him from playing and make him go eat. Would you believe he didn't see the desserts ? Probably a good thing as he had plenty of energy as it was.

He has gone from a cpf skeptic to a "can I go to the next party ?"

Thanks for everything, had a great time!

Was pretty tired after driving home an hour and a half. Have not gone through the photos yet.

See you next time!

Donna and I had a great time. The food was great, and so were the people. There were so many lights that I did not get a chance to play with them all. Next time..

Thanks Weedle and SheDevil for hosting such a fine gathering.
