Newly Enlightened
Well, "UB4T" is not exist in the surefire official product list. Head and tail-cap belongs to UB3T, but the new body is 2*18650 available.
Wall thickness at the rubber-ring position is 0.3mm thicker than the original body on the radius. New body itself referenced M4's body.
I made a proof at first, without anodizing and the knurling was terrible. But it helped me a lot.
Made several adjustments, knurling area and, most important, the inner diameter at the end of the body...
I found the tail-cap spring leaf for the max level was difficult to hung on the end face of the proof body, the inner diameter was to big if I wanna to use 18650. A step at the last 5mm of the body was made to solve this, just like the step of the E-series bodies. I have to insert 18650 from the front of course.
Another problem, the front ring of the original body, was solve by an annular spacer, 0.5mm (stainless steel) or 0.8mm (brass) thickness . This spacer was made to put into the head very precise, wouldn't drop out.
Done.
Front ring of the original body and the spring in the head.
0.5mm thickness annular spacer made of stainless steel.
Put the spacer in, problem solved.
The step at the end of the body, another problem solved.
Looks pretty, right?
My own logo...haha~
Here comes "UB4T"!
Some of my friends asked me why not made some extension bodies for ub3t, m3lt and m3lts, cheaper, easier. It's not about 16650 or 18650, it's about what I'm into, I love knurling and M4 style, that's it...
