So has anyone heard info or opinions on the SFT-70 and how it compares to the SST-70?
I was looking at both Fenix TK16v2 and PD36r Pro, they both have very very similar numbers for performance. The biggest difference in light appears to be the types of LED they use, 16 using SST and 30 using the SFT.

The SFT-70 is a flat-top package rated for 7A, the SST-70 is a domed package rated for 5.25A. At the same drive current, the SST-70 is slightly brighter (1 bin per Luminus, about 7%). The flat top of the SFT-70 is a smaller apparent source, so has the potential for a narrower beam from the same optic size. Other than that, the parts are pretty similar and interchangeable electrically.

Thank you for your input, makes it a bit easier to pick the TK16 and save a couple bucks vs buying the 36Pro. If they are going to be very similar performance.
