Spec 4 looks GREAT!!! LOL

We are near the limit of the XHP35 ;-)

500K Lux and almost 9000 Lumen is unprecedented in this size

Thats amazing stuff vinh, how does it cope heat wise as it is a fair sized head. That is pretty much rc40vnT spec(give a few lumens)

the tn36 battery carrier is the same as the tn36ut right? 2s2p? I'm pretty sure they are but i don't wanna be wrong.

spec 4 really got my attention. did you cram 4 drivervnx2s in there? i thought the xhp35s couldn't be run with drivervnx2 for some reason.

gunna confuse the hell out of my co-workers when they see both the "tn36" and the "tn40" written on the same light. I wonder if they line up when you tighten the handle.

Spec 4 really impressed my friends at a party tonight. It has been a long time since I made something that impressed them. I continue to play with this light for the rest of the night...~9000 Lumen and 500K Lux...Just incredible...

This is almost like a K70vn that has 3.5 times the output! I am still not over how incredible this light is since finished it tonight...Freaking 4:15AM! Need to sleep.

Very impressive, now we just need to be able to source the TN36UT battery tubes and carriers separately. This might be a thrower I might have to try out.

Just to note, the thrunite mini TN30 also uses the same battery tube and carrier as the TN36UT, just have to get the carrier springs upgraded. Might be a cheaper option if the tube and carrier cannot be sourced separately if you don't have the TN36UTvn already.

So if I don't own a TN36UT or TN30, and there's no source for purchasing those battery tubes and carriers separately (not to mention having the battery springs modified) , I'm out of luck buying TN40vn Spec 4 (which is head-only)?

I own a TN36vn but, I see two problems with this Spec 4 light.

One is that my T6vn will be relegated to a back-up light.

Two is that if this keeps up, my poor grandkids will have no inheritance.

On second thought, my grandkids can buy their own flashlights. LOL

I am going to wait and see what vinh can do to the TN42 and whatever Fenix puts out for their new thrower to replace the TK61. I used to have a dedicated thrower (K50vn) but it didn't have a strap so I never used it. Gifted it to my father as a result. Guess we'll see what the future holds.

Comparison of beam profiles: Wider beam on the Spec 4 TN40vn, compared to the K70vn?

I have the TN36UTvn, so I am halfway there.

I also have the K70vn ordered, so someone is two thirds of the way with being able to detail compare these two items' beam profiles side by side, unless someone else who is fully prepared jumps in first. :)

Logically, the lux is the concentration of lumens, so with high lux & relatively low lumens, there isn't going to be much left over for spill. K70 & TN42 lights would seem to fit this profile.

This TN40vn has both high lux & high lumen, so even with great throw there should be power left over for a bright spill.

The T6 excels at both lux & lumen. The TN40 Spec 4 sounds like a T6 on steroids. I imagine the beam profile of the two to be similar.
