I got the FM 3X26500 few weeks back and this is what I came out with. I use FM MN Bi-pin adapter with WA1185 and LF C-M adapter.
I wish I have the FM1909.

I've seen pictures of the 1x26650 next to a 6P but would like to see the 2x26650 next to a 6P as well, as it's hard to judge exactly how long the host is.

Remember also that the 26650s are IMR and a safe chemistry, where AW's 18650s are safe because of their protection circuit. Big difference to me.

It's not about capacity. It's about performance.
IMR 26500 cells are 2300mAh and IMR 26650 cells are 4000mAh while new protected 18650 cells are 2600mAh.
AW's 18650 cell may deliver 5 amps easily but what voltage?
IMR 26500 will deliver slightly more voltage under same current draw.
Even if they deliver 0.1 volt more voltage compare to AW's 18650 (2.6), that's a big plus for direct driven LEDs and will make huge performance improvement.


Chance is there.
