Looking for suggestions on which bulb to try in my MagCharger.

Setups I've tried thus far:

Stock bulb on 6 x AA Eneloop. - Love the performance and throw. Would like longer runtimes and keen to what you can get beyond the stock bulb.

Stock bulb on 2 x LifePo4 - Nice and a good all round setup and step up from stock MC performance using the original NiCd or Nimh 6v pack. But less bright than the 6AA Eneloops (only 6.4v vs 7.2v I guess...)

Phillips 5761 on 6 x AA Eneloop - Was ok but very short run times

Phillips 5761 on 2 x LifePo4 - Nicer than I thought it would be. Less throw than the stock bulb but quite a bit more lumen output.

Thinking I'd quite like to try 2 x Li-ion next. But reading on here the stock bulb insta flashes at 8.3v, so 8.4v static voltage of 2xLi-ion sounds like a no no. I also read that the 5761 won't like 2S either.

Any suggestions?

You can try 2x26650 with spacer and centering tube with WA1274 bulb.

Brighter than stock bulb and longer run time than stock battery.
Stock bulb is 6V, 1.7A ---
1274 is 7.2V, 2.7A
Stock battery is 6V, 2500mAh --- 2x26650 is 7.4V, 5200mAh

Thanks. Any suggestion on how to find such bulbs? Google doesn't show up much?

You can try 20W Philips 7388 (or alternatively Osram 64250) or 10W Osram 64410 Halostar. They make 64410 with vertical filaments so the throw is quite good.
Thanks. I think it was your thread that 2S Li-ion was insta-flashing the 7388. Did you solve this? Do you know if the Osram bulbs handle 2S?

The 10W bulb handles them just fine. For the 20 & 30W bulbs I needed to install a NTC (resistor) into the tailcap. You have to insulate the bare metal where the spring clips into the tailcap & strip another part (say, the bottom-inside) of its anodization. Then solder one end of the NTC to the spring & the other to a bare metal surface (of the tailcap). I used "Epcos B57237-S109-M".
