My dad borrowed my shotgun to go trap shooting with a friend, and went through a box or two of shells. So today my Haiku helped me disassemble and clean it all out, and put a bit of oil on it and in it. We (Haiku and I) are having some difficulty getting it back together for some reason though. :ohgeez: Oh well, we'll do it later.

Used my Haiku high CRI at the range tonight for qualifications and several of our tactical shoots. Not surprisingly I had the only McGizmo there tonight. The beam and color rendition of the Haiku was very noticeable among the typical police type lights.

Not only do I use my McGizmos CONSTANTLY around the shop (looking in dark places, checking setups for light getting through, a zillion other things), but so does everyone else. I am now "the guy with the flashlight". You'd think it would inspire other people to carry a light, but alas, no. Go figure.

The funny thing is these people take my LunaSol-27 with barely a thought and have no freaking idea what they are holding!!

Souptree- your last line really struck a chord with me... I'll use my Haiku around work all the time, and occasionally a co-worker will ask to borrow it, having no idea they're holding a custom $450.00 flashlight... :) I kinda like that.

nystrpr- coincidence that you have 911 posts. Cool!

I was wondering what I could post here but I will give it a go. It did not happen today as what was required of the thread title, but I will still play.

Was out over the weekend doing my usual trekking and camping trips but this is the first time I have my high CRI Haiku and Mule along. I was amazed at how well it performed out in the field and how well the Nichia 119T high CRI brought out the colors and contrasts of nature. I am happy with cool white in such a scenario, but I am even happier with my high CRI McGizmos. I am glad I specifically bought these high CRI lights for the very purpose of my outdoor trips. The XM-L Haiku is for my daily EDC around urban areas and I left it at home during this trip. I have posted a few beam shots of my trip here. It is photo intensive so those with slow bandwidth be warned.

I love flashlight porn and beam shots as much as the next guy, but the Night Trekking pics really show the lights in a real life applications. Your shots are great. Looks like you guys have a great time. You also gave me a good idea with foil pan and charcoal for a portable grill. We are going out this weekend and I am going to give it a try.

Thanks for the compliments. The idea of using foil pan was just so that we could keep things light. Easily disposable and cheap. Just crush it up and dump it into one of those recycling bins and we call it a day. Hope you enjoy your outing this weekend!

Used my Haiku to work on my shotgun again. Got it all back to normal! Don't know what the heck I was doing wrong the first time that it kept getting jammed up. Anyways, when you push all the releases at the right time, it just slides together like it should I guess.

Already used 2 Gizmos on the early (4:30 AM) puppy walk - I just love the Makai 6V XML for throw and the Haiku 6V XML for it's flood. I have 2 dogs - both Shelties - and my oldest one is almost 15 and she has poor vision. I literally flood the area we walk in with the Haiku - then if something goes "bump" in the distance, I whip out the Makai and light it up - usually a bunch of deer that wander the area.

Same at night...and during the day today, I plan to carry my modded PDS, now a 1A PD Neutral XML....

Used my Mule XM-L to light up a wall of pallet racking in our offsite warehouse at work. It was all closed up and lights out but I had to find a pallet of samples for some retesting and I don't know where all the switches are in that place as I don't have to go very often. A dark warehouse is no match for a dude with a Haiku and a Mule in his pocket though. Hello dark wall, meet light wall.

McGizmo Haiku and Mule saved the day, and yesterday as well. I was tasked to photograph some exhibits involving life-size holograms and multimedia displays in a very dark and dimly lit environment for my client. The problem here is that I am prohibited by the management of the property to set up my lighting equipments on location, and try as I may I am just unable to get a clear shot of the talents that are posing for the shoot.

So I discussed with the art director and he agreed to use my high CRI Haiku and Mule to light up the talents. The Mule was used to provide a smooth and soft coverage whereas the Haiku was engaged in providing relief lighting for the talents. The third McGizmo light, an XM-L Haiku, was used to light up some corners on the exhibit displays. Overall, the entire shoot went on smoothly and the client is happy. Would love to post up some photos here but I am not comfortable in posting photos that I did for my job on a public forum. Please accept my apologies for that.

Good stuff Andy!

I have used my McGs for tons of things and forgotten to post about it. Used my Haiku to help me see in some ceiling vents in my lab to adjust the dampers. Used the Haiku to help load my dad's car into a trailer in the dark after a car show it was in. Used my Mule to navigate the house the other morning very early so as not to wake the family. Used the Mule again to light up path going out to my car after work the other night (I work 2nd shift). Probably some other stuff too but that's what I remember right now.
