Lights are very much a visual thing & most users think very little about run times. It's why we have lots of X000L lights that only hold it for 1 minute or less & almost no one notices. As a guy who started out looking for run times I learned quickly how to avoid the trap of pretty pictures
I feel like this isn't quite fair, taking pictures can take 10 minutes, especially if you've got a pattern to follow, while doing runtimes takes a lot of time and also depends on the reviewer's copy. There's a reason in many cases where you do have runtime tests that the people doing it run different cells and have a standard for how they do it.
Buying flashlights is very much a visual thing based on physical appearance as much as specs, just like with most other things. That goes for me too, im not ashamed to admit it.
Except for when I bought my smart car.
