Does anyone know if this setup will work with the AW 18650/3400mAh?

Not sure why it wouldn't. Most of AW's protected batteries are a 2C continuous discharge (6.8 amps for the 3400mAh). This light at max only drains at 3.8 amps.

need to know if it will fit into the light. from what I have read on cpf the 3400mah cell might not fit into some flashlights.

Do you know if it is due to diameter or length? The FM body is relatively generous in diameter and depth. It is not as tight as my Surefire body bored by Oveready.

If you have calipers, you could measure the diameter AW battery and I'll measure the inner diameter of the FM body on my end.

I recently purchased a FM 18650 body and the AW 3400 fits snug so you shouldn't have a problem.
