Everyone is talking abtou this waiven collar. Do you guys think it would work in the Xsearcher?
I see that sal415 said the small collar is too large. sal415, just to be clear, did you try the small collar in a Nightmaster or Xsearcher?
As far as the collar goes if you could properly implement it you should see a significant increase in surface brightness. When I say that I mean that the amount of intensity you gain by de-doming the LED should be similar to properly implementing the collar. In addition, it also has the effect of lowering the CCT.
Here are some made up numbers for the sake of example. So let's say you got 150,000 candela with XP-G2 at 3 amps in a Xseacher or Nightmaster. Then if you de-domed that same LED in the same light now you have 250,000-300,000 candela. Now if you properly implement a Wavien collar in that same light you have 500,000-600,000 candela.
Got it? Again, these numbers are just made up but I am using real percentage increase examples based on the tests of other CPFers.
