I bought 8 generic green sleeve 2300mah AA size cells on ebay over a year ago from a Hong Kong seller at a cheap price. They were not so good. Not 100% terrible, just not great run-time. They did, all 8, charge up & were useable. I guess "you get what you pay for" applies to these Chinese generic batteries. Now i only buy batteries that are "endorsed" by fellow CPF battery experts.

Regards,

John

3600mah are the highest capacity cell I can find in the UK.

and they cost over $10 per cell.

I would like to have ordered some good quality cell from the USA.

where you can get C cells as large as 6000mah

but the post and packing, costs more than the batteries.

I will wait and see how the 5000mah unbranded cells I have ordered perform.

thanks for the help.

Batteryspace seems to be a very reputable shop here.

They sell these powerizer cells

This seller on ebay sells 4 of the same cells for 14.95 plus shipping

1. I have never bought anything from this seller.

2. I am generally very wary of buying from sellers with huge numbers of completed transactions (some sellers use the brute force approach and don't respond to any emails - they tend to end up with lots of positives and an uncomfortable number of negatives).

Take that into consideration when buying.

Nothing wrong with unbranded cells in my experience. I've never seen a branded C or D cell. It seems they brand the cells that are often sold in the brick and mortar stores.

By the way I have a few Energizer brand AA cells, that say 2500 mah. I can only get 2300 mah out of them.

That's my point exactly. Brand names rarely live up to the label rating, non brands almost never live up to the rating. They still may be a good deal, just understand before you buy them that they're not actually 5000mah. Nobody regulates this kind of thing. Manufacturers can basically pull any number out of their butt and write it on the battery. Obviously cheaper companies are more unscrupulous about this.

I've been talking to a few Chinese NiMh manufacturers about a possible NiMh group buy. Not a single one will promise me that the batteries will be within 10% of their rating.

I just want to thank everybody for their advice, keep it coming.

Ok when I get my mysterious unbranded Batteries how do I test their capacity.

I know that cell have to go through a number of charge discharge cycles
for the true capacity to be known.

The only chargers I have that will test Batteries capacity are

an MAHA MH-C777PLUS and a TECHNO LINE IC8800 which is a rebranded

LA CROSSE BC-900.

I know C size battries won`t fit, maybe i can make an adaptor.

for the bc-900 and enclose it in asbestos, as i have read about them going

into meltdown.:mad::poof:

any comments would be apriciated.
