Just wanted to share what TranquilityBase quietly made in the last few weeks .... E-Series compatible PILA168A / 18650 compatible tubes in 1x and 2x form-factor.
AND ... now available with an integrated C-head piece to run C-Series heads on the fat Li-Ions while at the rear end using Aleph 2-stage Caps ...
Here are the pics in various configurations:
1x168 TB-tube with Aleph3 and Standard Aleph Cap
1x168 TB-tube with Aleph2, Ti-bezel and Standard Bald Aleph Cap
1x168 TB-tube with E2C (DSpeck) and KL3 as well as Standard Aleph Cap
2x168 TB-tube with C-head piece running a KL5 and the usual Aleph cap
2x168 TB-tube with C-head piece running a KT2 TurboHead with an ARCmania TowerModule Wx1S at 700mA and the usual Aleph Cap
There are even plans for other tube types as we speak and maybe even a C-end , but that remains to be seen.
Just a few comments about the tubes:
Workmanship including anodise (HA-NAT) is great, ergonomics are superb and they just work. For all you fat PILA lovers this is IT !!!
Only one little point ... in the TB-to-E-head junction a spacer is used, and when rattling the light around, there might be some intermittent contact losses, at least in my lights. Nothing terrible, but one has to know.
Here's a pic of the disassambled tubes:
