Where\'s this black stuff coming from?!?
This was a subject concerning me protecting my LS lens, but I am changing it...
I have for the second time tonight cleaned the threads on my Arc SLS...I put the 2AA pack on and started twisting (Thought I'd cycle it 20 or 30 times) and the same thing happened as last time...my beautilfully cleaned and lubed gold threads turned all black! This happened last time I cleaned as well so this time I took extra care to clean the threads in the head and on all 3 power packs.
Where is this black stuff coming from...it seems to be little tiny tiny tiny itty bits of metal mixing in with the Radio Shack lube stuff. It drives me nuts! I like my clean threads!! What is a (literally) poor boy to do?!?
Also, I know that it happens when you turn it on and off, but what's the best way to clean the neg battery contact on an LS 2AA pack? A Q-Tip just doesn't quite reach down there...bigger Q-Tips?
