I have been looking at getting one of these http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6105 as I can get one in the UK. However appart from charging 18650s I have now got a Jetbeam Jet-1 pro v3 and I'm itching to try a 14500 in it. Will I be able to recharge an 14500 in the sku.6105 if I use a spacer, and is that a safe and advisable thing to do.

The problem I have is that in the UK you either get a generic like the sku.6105 or you get a Trustfire 139. Concidering its not going to get heavy heavy use is the Trustfire 139 OK

Any way your opinions greatfully received

Depends on the charge current. If it charges high at around 1 amp then that would be too much. For smaller cells it should be around 400 to 500 mA IIRC.

no it is not safe to charge 14500 using SKU 6105 as you can see in one of the photos it says 1A*2 which means each channel get 1A charging so it is too much for 14500.
