Reflector size and length for modding

This maybe a newb question, but I am looking to mod my Stanley HID 3000 to produce less spill and more downrange light. I will be primarily using it for nighthunting (legal in my area).

In modding it, I am looking at making (can't find a place to buy one) a reflector that is long and narrow. I'm thinking something around 6 inches long (or more) at about 6 inches in diameter with a gradual sloping cone to the bulb. If I have to make one of these, any recommendations on the best matierials to use?

Will this produce the kind of low-spill, long-throw results I am looking for? Or is there a happy medium when it comes to reflectors?

I will also be putting a red lens on the light, which will cut down on output significantly, which is why I am so concerned about getting as much light downrange as possible.
