Hi guys,

Anybody has any experience regarding the stage type spotslights?

Apparently there are 2 types. 1 is the small/short type with fresnel lenses. The other type is the longer with convex/aspherical lenses.

(1) What's the beam quality? I think the longer type we know is a very distinct circular pattern, almost "too nice". How about the fresnel?

(2) What are the beam angles? I think for the long type we can narrow the spot, but at a very big expense of efficiency (it just cuts out the light).

(3) Both would not throw very far? If you want throw, you'd need the Skyrose/Skytracker kinda stuff?

The fresnel one costs less than a Olight SR90, includ shipping to my place via express courier.

Little robots. They go up to 1200W.

If you check this out, the focus can be changed for these moving spots. Seems to be quite tight a beam, just none of those really tight hotspot + relatively big corona type that we are used to.

Looks like the spot size of a XM-L on 41mm reflector, and it is aspherical throw quality.

I really like them people, the lady continues to sweep the floor. Doesn't she know that she would be instantly blinded?! This is much much brighter in reality, look how dim the streetlights are.

the lst one look very nice, but how are you going to power it, a generator?

Seriously, all my big lights never leave the house. LOL! Just plug it into AC and have fun. Luckily I live @ 30th storey, my targets are already quite far and varied. (btw if you come to Singapore, there are 2 Integrated Resorts aka
"Casinos", from my apartment I can see both). If I go up to 50th storey garden up there, I have access to 360 deg, distant targets up to 20-30km, good for testing small carbon arcs and 0.6 deg (!!) Skytrackers. Generators will attract the police, I guess 2 x big marine SLAs + a 24V input 4000W inverter would nice. (modular and not 1 big piece like a genset) Li-ion would be too cost prohibitive/dangerous, its not gonna make it any much lighter anyway.

Good stuff...http://www.lifelinebatteries.com/marinedeepcycle.php

Not that'd do it....just a fun thought. :)

Here's the astronmical counterpart. They do this all the time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwVg1M6bURI
