Niwalker has shared another interesting new light with me - and asked that it be put through my 'real world' torture tests! Always only too happy to oblige, I jumped right into the tests. I believe that Selfbuilt will be doing comprehensive tests on this light, so I'll spare any extra commentary other than to mention that this is a large reflectored, XPE throw monster - using either 1 18650, 2 123s, or 2 18350s. For my tests I used (and left inside throughout the tests) 2 AW18350 cells.

Tests were as usual, with a couple of 'twists.' Submersed the light in water....

Then popped it in the freezer...

Froze it solid

Left it to thaw...in the mean time it spent more time in water - total of 24 hours between water and ice!!

Then off to the oven to bake at 225 for 2 hours...

Great heat sinking - took it out of the oven, quickly took the temp and it had already dropped 20 degrees...

And flipped it on....

Now a couple of 20 foot drops, then a few random tosses onto concrete...

Very minor marks on anno and the bezel ring

Looks worse in the photo than in 'real life'

We've seen lights boiled, run over by vehicles, seen them used as a hammer, seen them dropped from ridiculous distances, frozen, submersed forever, and some survive, some don't. I firmly believe that the 2 Niwalkers I have tested so far will go the distance and survive just about anything a user could submit them to in the way of 'real world abuse.'

Thank you Niwalker, for entrusting me with testing your lights, and for making solid products! I look forward to Selfbuilt's tests of this great new light.

Looks like a tough bugger, just like it's big brother! Thanks for the videos.

Thanks Dan for doing this. I love watching flashlights getting beat up for some reason.

I've had the opportunity to give the 220 a bit of use thanks to Dan sending it to me for a vacation... :) Solid, as evidenced by the torture testing, beautiful smooth reflector, GREAT throwy beam, very nice usable spill. Forward clicky is nice, I'm able to pick out individual trees and phone poles at 200yds when out walking my dog at night. The size works nicely for me, and the ability to run it on whatever will fit in the battery tube is a big plus. 2x123 primaries, 2xrcr123's, 2x18350's a 17670 or 18650, not hurting for choices. I do have a question for Niwalker- will a tailcap with multi-mode be available as an option or included, as on the NWK750? With or without, definitely a really nice light. Keep them coming! Looking forward to your other offerings.
