I havnt tried current higher than 2.1A. But at 2.1A it's bright!

I just modded an Armytek Predator from an R5 to the G2 and it throws so noticeably better! :-)

Hi, first about your 2.7-4.5 driver, is it a boost/buck or linear and how much current does it do? Also do you or anybody else you know of have some lux number for the XP-G vs XP-G2's driven the same with the same optics?

    Thanks.

    Vin,
I have a 6p that is bored for 18mm cells and want a XP-G2. What is your recommendation for peak output? I would be interested in the thre mode moon/med/high and can run either a single18650 or two 18350's. Thanks

I got a low-medium-high driver that pulls about 2.1A on High and has a working voltage range of 2.5-9V. But if you are running just 18650 I strongly suggest my 2.5-4.5V driver. Its very efficient and well regulated.

    Vin,
What would be the output of the 2.5-4.5v driver? Also, I am curious about the tint of the XP-G2. Thanks again.

I can set the current of the 2.5-4.5 to anything you want. 2.1A would get you max brightness with XP-G2. The tint of the XP-G2s that I have seen thus far all cool white but more on the neutral side.

Sounds great. I will take a 2.5-4.5v with the high set at 2.1A. moon/med/high(2.1A). I will also take the solder fill option. This would also work with a IMR 18350? Let me know what the total comes to shipped to Hawaii. Thanks again.

Being a little bit of a noob, can you translate the output to lumens on the Multi-Mode High Current & Low Voltage option: 2.7-4.5V max.

    Thanks

I am testing out some XPE-R4 in a smooth reflector drop in and it seems to be great! Excellent filled defined hot spot with no artifacts! I am very excited! 1.8A-2A is the highest we can drive a XPE. But the best current is about 1.5A

For LEDS current is the main variable that control the brightness. What type of batteries you use is related to the voltage you pick. Let me know what battery you are using and what you want from a drop in and I will make a recommendation.

I would be looking at a low voltage with a single 18650 or 18350 and a Med voltage with two primaries. Also something in the warm to neutral range if these LED's are available like that.

    Thanks

I am not sure where they sell XP-G2 in neutral yet. But For a neutral tint I really like the Nichia 219. :-)

    BIG THROWER REFLECTOR NEWS

I have found THE SMOOTH THROW REFLECTOR for the XP-G2 LED and XPE-R4. This reflector makes the best P60 thrower I have tested. Unfortunately, I have to order an entire drop in from oversea just to salvage the reflectors for this build.

XPE throws a bit better than the XP-G2 but with less lumen as expected! Hang tight XP-E2 is coming soon!

...Just tested the XRE and the XRE is still in this same league but of course with a less pleasing beam....
