Laser Pointer

I know absolutely nothing about lasers, and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for a small ( < 10mw ) red or green keychain or similar type. All i seem to be able to find is those garbage Chinese things that come supplied with flat batteries and ends that pop off all the time. I was wanting something of reasonable quality that would take rattling around on a keychain o.k.

This is a good question. There are a bunch of no-name pointers and laser parts on 3bay. Through a bit of common sense you can tell which are the cheap junk, but how can you find the reasonably good stuff?

There's a bunch of builds where various components are put together that seem to work well. There's also some guys who are really knowledgeable and have built some nice lights and lasers.

You know, I was going to ask where I could find out which is the good stuff and which is the bad stuff, but I realized that I've just got to start building and keep reading.
