can anyone tell me what a slave circuit/driver does in a flashlight? I've been googling here and BLF but can't seem to figure it out. Does a slave driver board boost current or what? I'm assuming it's another place to load up those AMC7135 chips when you run out of room on the main driver?

That's the kind of thing the phrase would make me think of - adding extra power handling under the control of a master circuit, either to get more power for a single LED, or to drive extra LEDs.

yeah that may be it too ("to drive extra LEDs"). I didn't think of that possibility!
