My current go to lights are the Streamlight Microstream, Zebralight SC600 Mk II, and Blackshadow Terminator. These seem to handle all of my EDC and Fire Department needs well enough, but I will be taking a tactical pistol course soon and will need a light with a tailswitch. It will be used simultaneously with a handgun.
I prefer a simple forward clicky like the Streamlight Microstream, but I'm aware that it's rare to find single mode clicky lights anymore. So I don't necessarily mind multi-mode, so long as it doesn't get in the way; I may be momentarily turning the light on and off fairly rapidly and don't want to be switching modes unintentionally.
Size doesn't bother me as long as it's at or below 6P form factor. I'd be okay with a protected 18650 sized light, or a single CR123 sized light as long as it can accept ICR123 protected rechargables. Same with output -- I'm always a fan of pocket rockets and I don't believe I will be having this light on for more than a few minutes at a time, but anything of suitable brightness would be fine towards the high end of what those batteries are capable of. I'd prefer a regulated light if possible.
I intend to buy online, and have a couple of weeks, but I'd prefer to have one suitable from the factory rather than having to assemble one myself. Price under $100 if at all possible.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated, it's been a long time since I've caught up on the latest and greatest when it comes to lights!
