It uses the same bulb technology as the Maxabeam. It uses a 175watt xenon short arc bulb(again, not that many lumens, but it will nock the socks off of anything that gets in its beam). Except, the Maxabeam uses a 75watt bulb so the Meagaray is quite a deal brighter.
