I thought it was a Black Thor and I thought they had Al reflectors.

d2s bulb replaced the H4 halogen and whala we have HID Thor. Looks brighter and definately much whiter - hard to look at the spot at a close distance. 35w vs 100w

Pretty much, cut through the dark and lit up anything the furthest distance i could shoot it at so far. The halogen had 60 min runtime to begin with, and this is just as bright so im sure i've got a helluva lot longer with equivalent brightness.

The light only cost me $24 US so was a pretty good deal. I modded it the very night I got it home.

I think mark got this thread confused with another. Someone else tried to do HID and the put the ballast inside but then dented the reflector when the ballast pressed on it.
NightShift: did your ballast not fit inside the light?
