Re: vinhnguyen54 D26 P60 Dropn Ins All Copper Bonded PCBs even XP-G2s, MT-G2 ;-)

How much for an XP-E2 4000 copper pill, solder fill, and a low-high driver run me? $41 or will it be more for the different driver.

like Tobrian said, "vinh, I heard you have an XP-E2 specific reflector now, is that true?

if so, how much for that with copper PCB (and the included solder fill)?

I'd want single mode, maybe 2.8A? "

With the exception of that high-low mode driver being much more attractive to me than just a single mode or even a 3 mode.

Good point, I didn't put this drop in a Surefire host because I knew the switch would let more current through...
I want to be careful but want to let it shine like it should...

SO what would you run an MT-G2 in, what set up and what host...

If I recall correctly, some of the Surefire switches add quite a bit of resistance.
Usually that's a bad thing but with these MTG2 modules it sounds like it might help.

If I was running one I'd try to either add a resistor or use a very thin spring etc to keep voltage down - which in turn would keep the current reasonable.
If @ the proper voltage I think these emitters can probably take some serious current maybe 5+amps.

Vinh- thanks for ordering Lo/Hi drivers.
Ill be ordering a module when arrive!

Be careful. Usually a bit of resistance + high current = something melting.

Sounds like I need to rig my DMM into the host and see what this guy is pulling through the Solarforce tail cap, I found the LED I think on Crees website and
it's listed as 3amps at 6V, so if I am powering it with 2 18500 cells am I overdoing it? I am hoping the voltage going to the LED is less due to the resistance within everything,
Hence why I want to get my DMM on this one...

I am looking forward to a regulated version, this light is very impressive, I'll bet it would make a lovely home in a D36 sized reflector for an M3 or heck, it could be a flood monster in a Mag reflector, Lol...

I have not seen or played with a dedomed light so I can't say. I love the XRE-EZ1000 you built me. The XP-E should throw more light further wether domed or dedomed, right?

Dome = about the same.

Dedome = Definitely out throw EZ900

Talking about flood monster I just sold one of these. Just increadible amount of light!

That's impressive!

What's the voltage requirement?

LED: XP-G2 Neutral 5000K
Current: 3040mA
Driver: Normal Low (not LowLow), Medium, High, Normal Low (not LowLow), Medium, High, 10Hz Strobe, 2HZ Blink, SOS, Beacon
Memory: No mode memory
Reflector: New smooth reflector

Special request: Normal Low not LowLow
This drop-in arrived today. Needless to say I like it. It's got great tint and is nice, bright, and tight.

Vin, a couple more questions, can the MT-G2 DD be run off of a single IMR or does it need the 6 volts to light?

Is there any chance of another run with the XRE-EZ 1000's with a 4000 K tint?

Why don't you take an XP-E2 instead? It should throw even farther and it is easier to mount on copper...

Ordered a XP-G2 from Vinhnguyen and wow. Thanks!!

The beam is exactly what I wanted, nice big bright hot spot and plenty of flood. For anyone interested, I ordered it with the OP, 3-stage, cool white, 2A.

Vin, do you have a picture of what the XP-G2 looks like in an SMO reflector?

You've got a customer for life!

I really need to take beamshots. Everyone is askign for them. I just never manage to build one of each and have it all here for beamshots. LOL I will get to it someday.

Go XPE red then drive it 5mA for Ultra Runtime.
