Update:

Had a bit of luck on the last big shipping step. Best case for the next batch of heads is the weekend after next, around the 20th. I will post here again before each sub batch release.

We're preparing dozens of lights, but since I assemble each by hand to order, I can't post them all at once without bogging down and missing scheduled ship dates. So they will be released for sale in sets of 10-15 at a time. Releasing and building all sets from this batch will take 1-2 weeks.

I'm sometimes left to wonder. But then I get to create something like this and it all comes into focus:

I made it out to take some beamshot photos last night and thought some may be interested in seeing how the V5 Wasp compares to a V4 P60 TorchLAB triple drop-in. Maybe obliterates would be a better choice than "compares." :naughty:

Even when powered by a single 18650, the V5 Wasp buries my poor old P60 Triple! Pretty awesome :twothumbs

Wow. Pretty bright indeed!
Are the tints the same or different? Or is it just the brightness that is throwing me off?

I just stumbled upon this thread and my eyes bulged out at the 1st picture in the OP. Don't have a clue about their performance, but they have to be the coolest looking lights I've seen! Rear thrusters no less! Rockets ready to blast off!

Is this the XPL version? Looks like it is from the tint, but just wanted to check.

Great beamshots!

Thank you sir. It had just rained when I took those photos so there was a lot of glare picked up by the wet grass. I took some more last night at a different location that do a better job of showing what it can really do!

The setup - 25 yards from target (blue barrel). 35 yards to tree behind target. White barrels are about 10 yards downrange and 5 yards to either side of the centerline.

First a few other lights to give some perspective to the magnitude of light produced by the Wasp Triple XPL.

SureFire P3X Fury - OK, it has no trouble lighting everything up.

TorchLAB Triple XPG2 P60 drop-in - Yep, it does the job . . .

20150817070331-c243ae1b.jpg

Malkoff Wildcat V5 - Not much throw compared to the others but it sure lights up the area.

20150817070304-c6723782.jpg

TorchLAB Wasp Triple XP-L V5 - Game over . . .
