    P3D R100 or Q5?

Thank you for the review of both LEDs. I, too, find that the rebel have a slight greenish/grayish look when on lower power modes, but it's very slight, and doesn't have a big impact on the color rendition (I even like the tint on lower modes, it's very easy on the eyes, compared to a blueish...

    P3D R100 or Q5?

My guess is that the R2 will have the same specifications. So, same duration at same junction temp. And it may even produce more heat, who knows

    P3D R100 or Q5?

That's the temperature on the outside of the metal body of the flashlight. The junction temp of the LED is much, much higher than that. While your flashlight might be at 40 degrees from the touch, inside the LED, it can be well over 100. I keep my rebel for the tint/durability :)

    P3D R100 or Q5?

Cree leds are rated 50k hours at 80 celcius if I remember well (350 ma). Higher than that, the life shortens quickly. Rebel leds are rated 50k hours at 135 celcius if I remember well (350 ma). With all the heat our flashlights produces, your cree whatever P,Q Z bin you can have, will begin to...

    P3D R100 or Q5?

go outdoor with both a q5 and a Rebel, you will choose the rebel. Also, the rebel led is more durable than the Q5 led. Thats from the specification sheets of both.

    Rebel100 - What comes next?

Well I'm happy then that I bought my rebel 100 while they lasted! :) I have one question though, I am really looking toward more fenix Rebel light, I don't think I would buy Cree fenixes, since I want to work with the best tint quality available, will Fenix continue making Rebel updates/lights...

    Rebel100 - What comes next?

dunno, but myself, while I don't care about the cree stepping up higher every month, I am patiently waiting for the next rebel bin.

Why Do Manufacturers Put SOS And Flash Modes On Flashlights?

I hate SOS and STROBE mode. I like having the choice of various lighting levels, though. Before they call their flashlights ''professional tools'', these company will have to take out those 2 annoying modes.

    Q5 Rated LED Life

If the flashlight gets hot in the hand, well, imagine the temperature in the middle of the small 1 millimeter thing that is the LED, so I can guess that yes it's easily possible.

    Q5 Rated LED Life

That's if you keep the junction temp. under 80 celcius if I remember well. If your junction temp. goes over that, which is easy to happen, the life goes down rapidly. For comparison, the Rebel has the same life, but using a junction temp of 135 celcius

    Q5 vs RB100 L2D premium

have you read the cree and luxeon specification sheets, especially the sections concerning LED life and degradation??? I don't think so.

Olight T20 Q5 Review with Beamshots

Dr.Glock27: It's not because one light has a better THROW that it is brighter/better... A light that has a too small hot spot, too much throw and not enough spill will not be good for most applications. And I personally like the beam of the R100 better. more usable spill, and a better tint.
