    I started police work in 1977, bought this shortly thereafter, then retired. If there's no number on the tail cap, is it a 6 or 6C? I downloaded the Surefire history from here, but still can't decide. Thanks.

    Do only 6P and newer have a model stamped on the tail cap? Mine has the etching on the back of the tail cap, as opposed to around the circumference, but no model number. I think that I'm too new to post a picture.

    After trying to figure cwat I have also, I thought that they all had etching somewhere on the tailcap.

    Unfortunately, I only have an older one that I'm trying to ID. I'm not sure if it's a 6C or 6P. I can't seem to be able to post a picture, since I'm new. Is there a thread for that?
