Trying to make the Solarforce L2mm

I used a heat gun to heat mine up. Sometime the glue needs higher temps to break free.

Repurposing existing lights for sale as a different application

Depending on what your making it maybe easier to build it from scratch. Buy a driver and led star from one of the multiple sources and then design/build the case/head to fit your needs. More details of what your designing would probably help us point you in a better direction.

how to tell if a lens is coated?

Bring it under a light (Sunlight is best but a table lamp will typically work also) the coating usually has a different colored reflection then a plain glass lens. You may have to view it from multiple angles to see what I'm taking about.

I love the way the polished lights look but I could never use them I wouldn't want to get finger prints on them. So did you remove the knurling with a lathe?

    Mini-Lathe possibilities?

I just picked up a mini lathe off of CL for $150 (it was one of the HF ones). I know I want to upgrade sooner or later but I know the mini will get me cutting metal now not 2 or 3 years from now. I say you won't know the capabilities of a lathe until you have one and put it to use. Once you...

It's a L2mm (mini mini) Take off the battery tube of an L2 and screw the switch on in it's place. Typically uses CR2 batteries. Although that's the first I've seen using the S7 switch.

    Making a Surefire 6P useful again :)

Glad to hear that I've purchased a few items from them but never ran into any problems. It's good to know they have good customer support also.

Flat Wire , give me some ideas

What about small gauge ribbon cable (stuff used in computers, cd players, etc) and using multiple conductors so you don't lose power? Depending on how long of a piece you need you may be able to salvage some from an old printer.

Cheap 1xAA for blackouts at home?

My vote would be for a Ultrafire C3. I've been using one as my edc for over a year, and the only problem I had was the threads would get dirty and cause it to flicker every once in awhile . Plus you can run it on aa or 14500. ~$10usd on dx

    Handy-Headsup: Solarforce L2P-Natural

To my knowledge only standard L2's came in sand. The L2P are the HA III and only come in black or natural. When you use the drop down go to L2 and the sand are still there.
