For my Thrunite catapult v2 i put some electrical tape on my aw18650 cells for a tighter fit so I think it could accommodate slightly larger cells. For my other lights going wirh rcr123s.
Ordered a pair of orbtronics they say is based on panasonic NCR18650B. We'll see.
For reference haven't bought a lion in probably 10years. Because of vaping the space has gone mainstream. I got a old Fenix TK10, Thrunite Catapult V2 and a Jetbeam 1X18650 that i'm looking for lion replacements. Newer flashlights I've purchased were AA for the family so no lion for them.
It...
i had been out the flashlight game in a while. I went to see if there was a new Catapult and there wasn't. I really like the form factor of my old Catapult V2. The new form factor seems to be all about smaller more compact. Something about having a huge club with a stainless steel crown makes...
Man. Keep finding things I don't like. The main hi switch activates a press even when not fully depressed with no audible or tactile press. Notice sometimes wanting to double press or single press I get 3 or 2 presses. Carefully depressed slowly and got switch to activate without click.

this is my first eagletac light. So far the only things not to like is the UI of the two button system and the knurling. Everything else seems top notch. Love the carrier less battery system.
I'm referring to the parts where the knurling IS present in between the finger grooves. In the smooth parts is where I'll put the grip tape since it will stick there. The knurling parts are so smooth that the grip tape will probably stick there too.
I just picked up a second new family light SX30A6 (all AAA nimh powered) and I went with a 6AA light so it's not as easy to lose and for better grip.
Well I found the light to be very slippery. The knurling is all but useless on it. Compared to the Thrunite knurling wich is very grippy and...
Re: What is "parasitic drain" and is it important ?
maybe It's time i got a new AA/aaa charger that measured charging capacity. I have a hobby charger perhaps I'll get a cell holder to charge nimh with it. . It does tell me the capacity charged. Will pop those batteries back in and wait.

Re: What is "parasitic drain" and is it important ?
For some reason i never thought it could be the 8AA envelops that are 10 years old that could be the problem. I just couldn't see myself spending 25-40 dollars for brand new batteries for such an old light.
I've be interested in your test...
You should see all the stories about RC cars/helicopters/drones that have adopted multi-cell Lipo packs. Even though kids are sometimes closely monitored by adults, the chargers are complex, battery connector varies, wire gauge varies, and then actual of electronics have to be configured with...
