    Cree XM-LT6?

Here's Cree's data sheet on the XM-L emitters. I too tried googling the XM-LT6 and didn't get anything, so I tried just XM-L and found this. http://www.cree.com/products/pdf/XLampXM-L.pdf HTH

    Another 7135 Driver Wiring Question

Ok, new problem... I can't seem to make this work with red LEDs. Running one emitter alone, I have a Vf of ~2.2. The board (for obvious reasons) won't power them when wired in series, and when they're in parallel, it just turns on dim and flashes at a rate of ~.5hz (low power warning?). The...

    Another 7135 Driver Wiring Question

Cool. The backlighting thing really helps, never tried that before. It appears that (and I just tested it and it works) the + connection for the LED goes to the pad just to the right of the ATMEL chip, and the - LED goes to the pad on the top left (that has a - next to it). Now to rewire my...

    Another 7135 Driver Wiring Question

I just got one of the boards from DX today, and while it looks to be similar, the layout is different. Just trying to figure out the wiring... EL34, do you have any tips on what I can check to verify things? I have a DMM and really fine tipped probes, just not enough background with these...

    Which driver maxflex or simular

Why not run your 18650's in 2S2P orientation and use the Maxflex. That gives you ~7.4V and twice the life (i.e. your 18650s are 2400mAh, now your pack is 4800mAh) That's what I've been running using 3 Q5s and am very happy with runtime.

    Perfect Bicycle Light???

Sorry, the perfect bike light needs to last longer than 1hr per battery in my book. I'd like to see 3+hrs. Which is why I spend the extra $30 for a CC driver board like the maxflex. I've been trying to come up with a fairly simple light based on either 1 P7 or 1 MC-E to run off small battery...

worlds first triple MCE MR16 Maglite bike light

Hmm. Now that I think of it, I originally ordered the narrow Khatod, and then got the second optic when Cutter had some custom (6* maybe?) optics made by Khatod. I think the Khatod "narrow" is listed as a 10*, but seems wider than that. I'll have to try to verify this. Of course, my setup is...

worlds first triple MCE MR16 Maglite bike light

Trout, great looking light! You'll be very pleased with the narrow optic I think. I've got both the narrow and the wide MR11 Khatod triples for my Q5 light, and the difference between the two is great. You should see a vast improvement in throw with a decent amount of spill at the same time.

    Rear Light - Design Considerations

So then you add a little silicone sealant around the base of the lens and you're set, right? I think the gaps wouldn't be a problem at all.

    Rear Light - Design Considerations

I was thinking the same. Its too bad work gets in the way, as I have 3 Lux IIIs sitting at my desk, along with a Fatman driver (just upgraded my headlight to the Maxflex for versatility), so I'll start playing as soon as I get some free time. I didn't get the flare lens, so you'll have to post...

    New design (in progress)

Sorry it took so long... :D I just got the first (or really second) part cleaned up and ready to show off. Once again, this is for a triple Cree light, and will work with either the bFlex, Maxflex, or Fatman drivers. I'm still working on the back cover and a trim ring for the front (not a lot...

    New design (in progress)

Ok, the first parts have been made. Its a two part process, involving machining one side and then flipping the material to machine the back side. In doing this, I left a thin web of aluminum to be cut out later. However, I made this too thick, and the finished product looks like crap... I'll...

    How much is too much?

Steve, I have a "plain tight" for my MC-E in the 26.5mm dia. It gives me about the same beam size (as far as I can tell) as my 6 deg optic for my triple Q5 light. That means it pretty floody for a single emitter. Not sure how it will work in real life, as I've not had a chance to fab a...

    Options on MCE optics?

I just got the Carclo "tight" in 26.5mm size. It fits nicely, can't tell at this point how well it will work. So far I'm still bench testing, as I don't have a completed housing for the MC-E.

    Maxflex3

Order placed.... (gets excited) Now I just need to get my order from Cutter to show up... Could be lots of lights being built this winter!
