    Far Throwing AA Light

The only AA thrower I have is the JetBeam Jet-I-Pro Cree R2 v3 Its a great light, compact, good output and throw. Its hard to find a good compact thrower since everyone is starting to use larger LEDs.

    Olight M3X or Sunwayman T40CS

I have used both side by side, and I own the M3X. The beam and spill is cleaner on the M3X. The throw is amazing. I really prefer to run it in a shorter configuration so it was a better choice. It also gives me versatile battery options without a drop in output. I do like the T40CS as well...

    Klarus XT2C

All of my Klarus XT lights have high freq PMW... you can hear it but you cant see it (like the Olight M30), but I have to to put my ear to the tail cap to hear it... Under normal use I dont notice it. I have used my XT1C on a headband and I picked a different light to use because the lights...

    Klarus XT2C

I have the XT1C, XT1A, and XT2A. Along with its larger family XT10 and XT20. Along with all of their P series lights. XT2C will be added to the collection since I love pocket 18650 lights. I like them a lot, the interface and build quality is on par with what you would except from a light in...

Testing an 18650 without an 18650 battery

Order some CR123 batts online, buy a few... you can get good ones for around $1 each like RBWNY said. Battery Station brand for example, LightHound, GoingGear... Ive also used WF and TrustFire CR123s too on ebay and those can be had for under $1 each. You should have some laying around...

My house almost burned down today

Wow, these stories are good reminders not to become complacent with chargers and batteries. Glad you and your home are ok. I had some batteries to charge today, and I took the time to take the charger to work, where I can monitor it, vs leaving it at home charging.

    Wifi mesh networking for emergencies

Ive been dealing a lot with wireless networking, mesh networks, wifi repeater stations, and wide coverage wifi over the past few years... Since budget has always been a concern, I have been buying hardware almost all from Ubiquity Networks. At the price level, it allows even the common...

Klarus XT1C, XT1A, XT2A: My new favorite lights.. a welcome addition to my collection

My venture into Klarus lights started with the XT10... The new smaller XT lights, in my opinion, feel like the tactical versions of my Fenix LD10, LD20, PD20... The lights are very similar yet so different. So far im really happy with the build quality on the XT line, its really a step up...

+1, first thing I thought was the same thing. Happened to me with a different light, took some tools and found its loose. I was back in biz in no time.

Best 3 x- XML light out there

RCLumens makes a great point too... it also really depends on what you have in your line-up. I have a thrower (M3X) and a flooder (XT20)... I often find myself switching between them a lot. The RRT-3 could replace both of these lights for times when I can carry something bigger, but only...

First HID Build - Battery and Host help.

Ill give that a try first... Just wondering, if I wanted to make my own custom build, for example a bike light, or a HID retrofit into a smaller host, would a LiPo pack work for powering the HID? I know the only thing I need to take into consideration is the discharge voltage since there is no...

LiIon 18650 Charging - Is it OK to take batts on and off charger before fully charged

I really like to be home while my 18650s batts are charging... so if I have to step out of the house before its done, I take them off the charger. When I get back home I put them back on to complete the charge. I use a DMM to check voltages to make sure they do not exceed 4.2, but I stopped...
