    Long-distance visibility of single-color LEDs.

Not a scientific test, but I can spot blue lights at night much further and brighter than red. While driving on straight stretches of Interstate roads at night, I can spot emergency "blue" lights long before I can ever pick out the red lights which may adjacent to the blue lights on the same...

    LED Dimmer options

You are no where near maxing out the 450 watt dimmer. If you read the specs on the dimmer it very clearly states that it will not work with LEDs that use a 0-10 volt driver. You can only use it with LED bulbs.

    Violet/Purple LED

I have dozens in the 390-410 nm range but they are the wrong color. I have finally found some in the 420-440 range that seem to be a good fit for my project, but they are 5050 not 5mm. Thanks for offering.

    Violet/Purple LED

I need 6-8 right now for a prototype. I will be glad to buy them, just let me know the details.

    Violet/Purple LED

Anyone know of a good source of 420 nm, violet 5mm leds? My longtime source has dried up. Preferably 20+ degrees and 1000 mcd.

    Help with LED resistor

If you are dead set with using a resistor, you will need an approximately 17 ohm, 8 1/4 watt; both values are odd and not readily available. Resistors don't generally have voltage ratings. Your best choice would be a 20 ohm, 10 watt resistor, and it will get very hot. It will melt plastic or...

Need advice on multiple(4) LED strip lights on ONE controller.

You didn't tell us the type and model of the controller you are using. Many of the cheap controllers will actually control multiple strips by wiring the strips in parallel. The instructions with the controller should tell you how many strips it will power and control. Some of the larger wall...

    RGB string problems

It may be the "data" line. It is very sensitive to capacitive and inductive coupling. The addition of water could cause all sorts of data interference. If water did get into the system, it could be corrupting the data at the connections or worse yet, underneath the silicon coating. Dry it...

    LED Flickering. New to Forum

Your description isn't exactly clear in regards to the "ganged" boxes. I am assuming your are referring to the switch boxes mounted in the walls of the home not something internal to the ceiling fans. If you have them wired correctly, then there is no interference in the switch boxes that...

    LED 4ft Tubes Flickering

This is, unfortunately, a characteristic of LED lighting in general. The response of the LEDs is so fast that they can detect small changes in voltage and current which older incandescent lights could not. Fluorescent lights have also exhibited this behavior but to a lesser degree. Your LEDs...

    LED Whip Antenna help

This is done in the programming software. Both strips can be connected in series for power and data. Because each LED is addressable, you tell the software where the beginning LEDs are and the end LEDs.

9.5W Philips Hue LED for 8W LED fixture

Should probably work just fine. The small difference in wattage shouldn't make much of an impact as far as heating the fixture.

Heat sink size for 10W LED chip?

Generally, X number of Lumens = Y number of watts of heat. As long as you are producing X lumens, whether it is with 1 led or 5 leds, the Y number of watts will be about the same. Being that leds are "current" driven devices, constant current supplies provide the best option for driving in most...
