    Cave Dave, you and I have a lot in common. I too, carry my L1P this way (when I don't have on a jacket or vest of some sort, with a zip-pocket). In my book, it beats a clip mounted to the flashlight body; if I use a clip and try to EDC my little light 'mostly inside' my pocket I always trash...

    The poor flashaholics top 10?

    I'd like to agree on a few particular lights. These ones really spoke to me for Value/Design/Usefulness. And I'd like to mention the Peak Snow 29 LEDs for 5mm mod candidates. They rock, as long as you're driving them gently. Nichia CS gets the vote if you're going to push hard. Kenski

    On average, how many Lumens meets your needs?

    If I had to choose one level, the Fenix L1P class of lights. In reality, I carry a Photon-clone on my keychain which is fine for 'most applications'. The Fenix in my pocket is just 'mo betta'! I do have brighter lights, but how often do I need to illuminate that hill over yonder? Can't...

    I agree. This is almost certainly about economics/competition/maintaining market share, rather than the timing being driven by Mag's engineering for LED flashlights having reached some magic point, or emitters reaching a certain performance level. I look forward to seeing their offerings...
