    Jacks that fit DMM probes?

    What you're looking for are called "tip jacks". Mouser.com has a variety - both PCB and panel mount styles. Go to their site and look at page 863 of their catalog (figures R thru Y specifically). DigiKey carries them too but Mouser has no minimum order.

    40k mcd leds?

    So there are 10 2-ohm resistors in the circuit (one per LED). Are there any other resistors on the board or in the light? If you remove the batteries can you measure the resistance between the positive battery contact and any of the 2 ohm resistors?
