Charging Ni-MH D cells in Nitecore New i2 and Xtar VC2 Plus Master

Thank you - and if I was to make serious use of D-size Ni-MH cells I'd probably take your advice. But since I'm really just indulging in a bit of nostalgia for an old-fashioned light I think I'll get by with what I have, despite my chargers being essentially rubbish at charging D cells. But...

What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

Eveready Dolphin. It was there, and big 6V Duracells were 50% off. I'm sure I'll find a use for it - if only to store in the garage with the battery out for "just in case". ...Mike

Charging Ni-MH D cells in Nitecore New i2 and Xtar VC2 Plus Master

That's great, and I'm glad that charger works for you. But I have the chargers I have, not yours, and mine don't work so well for D cells. Which is why I said so. Since your charger works so well for your batteries, perhaps you should write something up - even if only very briefly - describing...

    Anyone think you're weird?

I know the feeling, because I know I'm weird. I noticed, the other day, that I had 7 lights with me as a matter of course, in the middle of the day, for no apparent reason. And I don't even see myself as a "light guy"! ...Mike P.S. Lights were: (1) Fenix E01 on my car keys, along with (2) a...

Charging Ni-MH D cells in Nitecore New i2 and Xtar VC2 Plus Master

In a fit of misguided nostalgia I picked up a new 4D Maglite to replace my old one which I recently unearthed in my garage (long after I'd figured it lost), finding it had been murdered in the interim by leaking alkaline batteries (that tailcap is sealed up very solidly!). To power it, and...

Is a Lumen a Lumen everywhere?

Well, yes. But you have to understand: there are mainstream lumens and various types of alternative lumens. The mainstream kind are the only type "they" want you to know about. "They" try to bamboozle you with all kinds of guff about physics, and measurements and instruments and engineering -...

    Cheers to Amazon Customer Service

Just to close this out, I re-ordered exactly what I had in my original order with expedited shipping and, as good as their word, Amazon reimbursed me the full shipping cost. A praiseworthy performance. ...Mike

    Carrier Rants

It is nice to know my experience with a postal carrier was I assume I did, objectively, receive my parcel despite a purely subjective belief that I did not and most definitely despite evidence (also purely subjective, one assumes) available from the carrier...

    Cheers to Amazon Customer Service

I'll try this again, because I would like to acknowledge excellent service by Amazon. I ordered a battery charger, some AAA Eneloops and a couple of novels from Amazon at the end of January. Due to circumstances I cannot discuss and which, it has been suggested here, may not have happened, I...

    Three Essential Torches/Flashlights

Hmmm. Three only. In that case, of lights I actually have, it would be a Fenix E01 on my keychain, a Jetbeam Jet-1 MK "Professional" as pocket EDC and a Jetbeam SRA40 as a larger option. I flip-flopped between the SRA40 and my Klarus RS20 - but decided the 4xAA of the SRA40 was more practical...

    Post your camera equipment/setup!

You already have a quite capable camera. I'm assuming that you haven't yet used it to its full capability, if only because you only have one lens for it and so can't have used it to its full capability. Buying a new camera won't change that, and most certainly won't make your photos any better...

What do you EDC (Every Day in your Car); what light is in your car?

I have a hardware store 3xAA worklight (with a stand that includes a magnet) and a Led Lenser P7.2 in the boot (Americans: read "trunk"). Oh, I also have an old-fashioned light-the-wick candle in the boot as well. In the passenger-side door compartment I have a Jet-1 MK Pro; in the main glove...

What did you use your flashlight for today?

Took another photo of a brushie: ...using the contraption I've documented in this thread. Also used the side-light on my Klarus RS20 to photograph a cartoon from one of today's newspapers (I didn't get out to buy the paper 'til after dark; and I find my light less harsh than the on-camera...

Flashlights as primary illumination for night photography

Quite right. Pretty much reserved for critters - and mostly at a decent distance, too. ...Mike
