What to recommend to the non-Flashoholic???
Just in case someone is still looking at this thread I would suggest the Maglite ML25. About $35 and it is a great general purpose light. 600 lumens and you use standard alkaline batteries.- Mr Bman

2 Cell or 1 Cell Cr123 for EDC?
It all comes down to what size you're comfortable with. I have been using a single cell CR123 with 330 max lumens but normally only need half output at about 150 lumens for most things. the higher output would only be used for searching or forgetting somebody's attention. Thank you for pointing out those necessary qualifiers. A lot of my friends and your industry have started using Eag Tac as they are very well built and have great battery management. Will I turn into a Maglite fan once again?
I always keep a Mag in my cars. I currently like the ML300L. 3 D cells and 625 lumens. Still not a fan of their led focusing but it is a solid well built light and batteries are easily available.- Mr Bman
