    Flashing Hi power LEDS

Has anyone besides me noticed sort of a turn-on "jitter" when you're flashing the hi power LEDS? I have (4) 1 watt white luxeon in series and flashing them with a 555 and a 4401 switching transistor....about 1 sec on, 1 sec off. It may be my imagination but it see a bit of a "surge on" effect...

    Warm white - high power

I'm looking for some choices on a 500mw or 1watt warm white LED and finding then hard to come by. I see the Luxeon which is readily available. The Osram LCW W5SG requires an 800pc minimum. Lamina prices are ridiculous. Any suggestions? THANK YOU.

    Kingbright Xpower

I've used Kingbright LED's for years in simple 3 or 5mm sizes. A well respected company but will take your opinion into consideration, semiman. They were one of the first off shore opto companies to make a splash. I have several of the Xpower 1 watt's on the way. I thought they were rated for...

    Kingbright Xpower

Has anyone had any experince with these? According to Kingbright, these are 1 watt in an SMD package and require NO HEATSINK at all. Really?

    Luxeon lens/diffusers

I'm trying to backlight a 7" by 7" acrylic square with two Luxeon white 1 watt batwing stars. I've been trying to eliminate the 2 visible "hot spots" and have tried everything from mounting the leds so they project backwards/sideways....you name it. I want a diffused wide angle pattern. First...

    Luxeon where to buy

I'm particularly interested in the Fraen lenses...I just spent 15 minutes on the Future site and it drove me nuts. They carry the lenses through the main Future site but NOT on their Luxeon specialty site. ??

    Luxeon where to buy

Think I may have answered my own question. Luxeonstar.com ? Thought they were in UK but Canada...more convenient. Any others?

    Luxeon where to buy

I bought some Luxeon Led's through Future electronics but is this my only choice stateside? (I see a UK place but I'll pass). What I'd like is to not only purchase the Luxeon 1 stars and emitters but some wide beam lenses as well, on one order.....off the shelf. Future doesn't seem to carry...

    Bright 5mm white diffused

Could anyone give me some part numbers or a manufacturers series on some reasonably priced 5mm diffused white LED's that have a high brightness for the money? Some popular, "non-esoteric", parts that are widely available? THANKS VERY MUCH.

    Luxeon Heat? Really?

300 ma is low? Maybe I misread but I thought the Luxeon maximum was 325ma or so?

    Luxeon Heat? Really?

I've had a couple of white Luxeon 1 stars running at 300ma for the past few days and really, these things don't put out the heat that I thought they would. I have just a small 1" square aluminum heatsink behind each with a some grease. They're not even warm to the touch. From what I gathered...

    Luxeon star current/brightness

I'm running a couple of white Luxeon 1 stars side by side on my test bench...one drawing about 250 ma, the other around 310 ma. I don't really "see" a whole lot of difference in brightness level at these levels. Is that the general consensus...that these can be operated below their limits and...

    Luxeon "bin" numbers

Thanks gents. Thanks iced_theatre for the specific rundown. I did see the Luxeon data sheet on the matter but it's a bit of pig latin if you ask me.

    Luxeon "bin" numbers

I ordered 5 luxeon 1 white stars from Future and no where did I see anything that allowed me to choose a "bin" number. I understand that it's a lettering system from A to E, where A is the brightest and coldest temp...E, the mellowest and colder. On my 5 parts there is one number on the back...
