    That SLIM model is not good. It's a linear model and wastes the voltage drop into heat. The battery voltage can be max. 4V over the led voltage.

    What buck driver do you have? It depends much of the driver. PWM is easy and the PWM frequency can be set high enough.     Thanks for the info. I'll wait for the reflectors and then I'll take test pictures of the led with different reflectors and with/without dome lens. Good sources for a reflector? I have Fraen reflectors coming, a bunch from DX and one model from Kaidomain.

    All LiIon accidents I have seen have happened during charging. It's a good idea to have a charging bag or box. I'm looking into using LiMn cells in my divelights. It's safer with the cost of lower capacity. The charge/discharge current is much higher.

    Was it successful or was the led destroyed? Is there soft silicone between the hard dome lens and led dies?

    With a Osram Ostar + a reflector you got a better spot if you removed the lens. Have anyone tried to remove the lens from a Luminus SST50?

    Any good sources for a reflector? I have Fraen samples coming. They are for Ostar, P7 and MC-E but maybe one of them fit with small modification. Any other manufacturers to try out?
