Sounds like failures are due to heat issues. I wouldn't worry about heat buildup while diving. Water is pretty handy when it comes to moving heat.
I love my Tec 40, but it's nowhere near bright enough for diving. I'm going to go get a surge to play with. Can't beat the price.
Wow, those 6-series explorer lights look like a great Every-day-carry light!
Same size & brighter than a G2/Scorpion. And an LED tailcap makes it 2 lights in one!
I realize this is an old post, but I just have to get someone to clarify this.
I just bought some TEC 40s recently. The package clearly says 4Watts. If the bulb is really only .5amps then wouldn't the light be 3Watts (6Vx.5amps = 3Watts)?
Well, I've also got some 25A 9V batteries. 2 of those fit. Or I'm considering going with 1/4AAA NIMH.
So I'm sure I'll get power one way or another. The switch is my main problem.
Help me with Brinkman Micro Max AAA Mod
Hey guys I need some help.
I'm modding a Brinkman Micro-Max 1AAA light. I've already got it running on one 5mm LED w/ an A23 battery. Works great. No where near as bright as the stock incandescent was but still pretty cool.
What I want to do is go to...
I just bought a Scorpion. Great light I love it! Brighter than my TEC 40 and smaller to boot.
The only grievance is of course battery cost. Even though I bought some 123As for $1.25ea it's still pricey. Rechargeable would be much cheaper in the long run.
Those of you who know your stuff...
60 Lumens is should be enough to make someone see spots, but no flashlight is going stop an attacker.
Whatever light you use make sure you've got the tools to finish the job after you have them seeing spots.
SPECIALIST,
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">If you test the Fox yourself be sure to let us know how it goes!
I've read posts from other guys that have tested OC on them selves in the past and said it wasn't too bad, then they tried Fox and said they'd never do it again
KartRacer31, I'll probally get the Eaglite since it's almost 1/2 the price. They're actually two different brands of the same type of bulb, so I doubt one is much better than the other.
I'm not going to order these right away since I've already purchased 3 flashlights this week. If I replace...
Xenon Bulb for Vector 139?
I just picked up a Vector 139.
Wow, bright light! Great bargain @ ~$40.
Of course if it could be made even brighter that would be nice also. Looking at the manual and the vector parts page looks like this uses a straight Halogen bulb. I found some...
