    I used only one 3.9 volt battery and a spacer with the L2T. It was not hot when I tried to switch back to low from high while using 3.9 volts. But heat is the only thing I can think of that would change by turning the light off for a while.

    Does your Surefire L2 makes a high pitched buzz when turned on "low"?

    Every L2 I have seen has had a high pitched buzz or hum on low beam. But some are much louder than others.
