Quite handy at work.
Love / hate the magnetic “base”, seems to always pick up tools or grab onto stuff a bit too much at the wrong time.
When used intentionally however, it’s quite strong and sticks like glue.
Recall anxiously awaiting my Arc LSH-S 79.00 on sale, rated at 14-18 lumens (not 100% sure on that figure but it was very low compared to choices available today), think it was around 2003.

Used to work in an electronics maintenance shop in the service and recall
seeing a quite a few of the tank searchlights come thru.
We had several people in the shop, most all were radio or teletype repair.
Only had one guy who MOS was...
Quick google search seems to indicate trickle type NiCad charges can sometimes charge NiMH batteries.
After a very long duration however.
Also best not to leave them permanently on the charger.
Personally I would be hesitant to mismatch batteries / chargers especially if you’re charging them
in...
They are probably not restricted to govt purchase only.
However it's doubtful if many people approach one of those companies "off the street" to purchase a searchlight designed for large vessels costing in the low to mid 5 figure range.
