    Thrunite drop-in acting odd

Norm, yes, i first tried changing to a fresh set of cells which did the same. Then when i swapped it into the 6p it was with the cells that were in that light, which as i mentioned didn't fare any better.

    Thrunite drop-in acting odd

Anyone have any idea why my drop-in is doing this? I have a Thrunite Cree XML 3-9v multi-stage in a 9P and have been using it without incident since I bought it back in February. However, today i went to use it and after being on for about a minute the light shut off. From that point, it...

Wife's reaction to the new ML100...

...was just what I expected. I was trying to show her how to click through the different levels and she said "why does it need to be so complicated, it's just a flashlight...you turn it on and you turn it off." She also didn't care to hear about longer run time or brighter output. I guess...

    Did i choose wrong tailcaps?

Got a package of solar force L2-S10 tailcaps today that I intended to use on my G3 and 9P. Unfortunately when I screwed them on neither of them worked on either of the hosts. Did I incorrectly assume these would be direct replacements?

Is there a list or review of floody lights anywhere in this forum?

Teej, thanks for info on the klaus xt20, it's a pretty cool looking light and I gave it some thought but since I had the G3 to upgrade I ended up going in that direction. AoW, thanks for the malkoff suggestion. I picked up the m60f with neutral tint and dropped it in my G3 with a metal...

SF filters for E series fit on mini-mag AA lights

I ordered a red slip-on filter for my E2L-AA light and discovered that it fits snuly on my AA mini-mag. Anyone looking for a quility filter for their min-mag at a reasonable cost (the slip-on type is very reasonable IMO) should take a look at these.

Malkoff m60fn is just the ticket!

The Malkoff drop-in I ordered arrived yesterday as I was preparing for a day of exploring some old buildings. I posted a couple of weeks ago asking about floody lights (a need that became apparent earlier that day when I banged my head on a low pipe that I didn't see with the light I was using)...

    budget headlamp: mini-mag plus headstrap

Got a shipment of stuff i ordered including an impulse purchase of a nite-ize head strap for small-ish lights -- like the mini-mag. I also ordered an LED drop-in for my son's mini-mag. I put the two together this morning and walked around the house with the light on to see how the combo works...

Best drop in for 9P (3-CR123a)?

I have a G3 body and just ordered an aluminum head from Overready and a Malkoff M60F. I'm expecting it to be delivered this week and I'll be putting it to use this weekend. For what I want to use it for I need room-lighting flood. Swapping out the synthetic head for an aluminum one should...

Tax time is here..which LED lights

I can see me convincing myself I needed an M6...what the heck, I already spent that much on a U2, and that's only a fraction of the output. The tk70 has monster output though and is big enough to be a weapon by itself. They're not that far apart on price given the sale price for the M6 on a...

    Retired an old friend today...

If you were accustomed to the newer LED lights and then picked up an old incan mini-mag I can see why you would react that way...the incan mags were invented 30+ years ago and have changed little since. The newer LED mags are very competitive for a US-made light. Built tough, shine bright (at...

Why is the ML100 so hard to find?

"Family friendly" means a form factor and interface that they recognize and don't ***** about. My wife or the kids can take from the drawer click the button on the side (where they expect it be) and it turns on. No cycling through different modes or buttons on the tailcap or twisty interfaces...

Why is the ML100 so hard to find?

"better" is a relative word. IMO, I don't think you can find a "better" family-friendly, abuse-proof light than a mag-lite. The 2C ML100 will be a welcome upgrade to the old 3C that's been the main household light for the past 25+ years.

    Retired an old friend today...

Yeah, I guess I could upgrade it as suggested by a couple of you guys but I was really curious about the new version of the mini-mag and picked it up while at Sears. The difference is night and day. Didn't mean to get too sappy about it, it's just that as I was putting away in the ammo can...
