    Quality of Quark Mini 123 . . .

I did the teflon tape for my mini123 as well. It works perfect now. I had the same issues of mode skipping and such. I did have a cr2 mini that was flawless. However, I sent it back as it is only marginally smaller than 123 version and I didn't want to have another battery type to deal with.

    question about Quark Tactical UI

I looked up those lights mentioned. I was expecting something comparable in price to the quark, and with a UI more akin to what you're looking for. I can't believe that you're complaining about the UI of a $70 flashlight that has two customizable modes with its description clearly in words...

    question about Quark Tactical UI

I'm totally ignorant of newer incandescent lights. Are there multi mode incandescents? Are there incandescents that would allow you to jump from a low level to max level within a couple clicks?

Single Mode AA w/ momentary on

If you're going to use eneloops for simple around the house chores, 1 hour runtime is plenty. I know it doesn't seem like much, but for the tasks provided, the light would be used for only minutes at a time. Perhaps you could increase your budget and get a Fenix L1T ver. 2, or get one used.

Single Mode AA w/ momentary on

RC-G2 with neutral white emitter from shiningbeam. A bottlecap from many water bottles fits right over the head to work like a diffuser. Perfect cheap flashlight for a new buyer.

What did you use your flashlight for today?

Quark 123 to charge up the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling for the kids before they went to bed. Quark AA and Romisen RC-C6 set on flood for cycling to the gym at night.

    Maratac AAA Q5 (Part 4)

mine seems to be working much better now as well. its not 100%, but it is definitely acceptable. its a great light, it looks different each day due to the patina.

Maratac AAA vs. Maratac AA (or other suggestion)

I don't understand why you'd consider the AA when you already feel the AAA is too heavy. Also, it seems that you have the standard A3 (one mode); the multi-modes are the tiniest bit bigger, so if you felt your A3 was too heavy, you may want to get something like a streamlight nano or something...

    Maratac AAA Q5 (Part 4)

Does anyone else have this problem? Its driving me insane. My regular aaa works flawlessly, but if I put the regular head on the copper body, I have the same issue of it skipping modes (or not changing modes at all).

    Tactical flashlight with strike bezel?

jetbeam III-m with strike bezel should be on that list.

Battery Vampires - Lights that you can feed your "dead" cells to, listing..

Re: Battery Vampires - Lights that you can feed your "dead" cells to, listing.. What exactly constitutes a vampire? My akoray 106 will run down a AA to .89. It's my personal vampire, but how does that compare with the others on the list?

    Husky 4W

I rolled up my receipt and warranty and wrapped the batteries to prevent rattle and so I'll never misplace them. Good thing as I had to return one of mine over the weekend. It would dim suddenly even with fresh batteries.

BessieBenny's Budget LED (DX/KD etc) Flashlights Review Roundup (Part X)

Re: What are some of the least expensive single CR123 lights available? I agree. If you're only going to keep one light in a car, it should definitely be a headlamp. To keep things on topic, my current cheap cr123 light is the akoray 109. If you need something right away from a US vendor...
