    Galaxy S7 Edge —> Flashlight?

It is really bright.... I do a lot of selling on craigslist and I used to use my DSLR for all the pics of items, but starting with my S7 Edge ive been using that, the light is bright enough to get surprisingly good photos especially macro kinds of stuff.

    Custom 12V Power supply

Good god man, that thing is outta control... I just wanted a quick and dirty high amperage 12v capability.. Im too lazy to build something like that.. you will find that while a lot of the stuff I produce is interesting, most of it is very simple because im rather impatient

    Custom 12V Power supply

This was my project for the day today(was trapped at home by the snow) It is a converted 300 Watt ITX mini power supply, but it still gives I think something like 28 AMPS of 12V, so it is perfect for my uses. I do everything with 12V because most gadgets I created eventually find use in my car...

    Custom homemade XHP70 Flashlight/Worklight/Spotlight I made

Ok, so here is a couple of beam shots. I did not attempt to suppress the 4 quadrant look, I actually kinda like it, ill probably order some 70.2's and mess with those at some point, but for now this is what I have on hand.... One of my friends thought I was trying to make a Microsoft ad. As far...

    Cooling and heatsinks

One of the interesting methods I figured out is to isolate the head of the flashlight from the rest of the body. According to the Cree data on the XHP70 it can go as far as 300 something F before physical failure, but I think a flashlight would become dangerous to hold at no greater than half...

    Custom homemade XHP70 Flashlight/Worklight/Spotlight I made

This is a second unit I made along with the first one as part of the same project. Even though there is quite a bit of apparent visual difference the are basically the same, except this one has a huge fan on the back because I run it for hours at a time. I also did not set this one up for a lens...

    Cooling and heatsinks

Yeah. so I was thinking a fairly large piece of metal with a small fan, the fan I have on the metal for my XHP70 build is is tiny, I think 30mm, and it keeps it from getting to hot to hold indefinitely

    Cooling and heatsinks

Ok, so, since im new here maybe im missing something, but so far my experiments have indicated that with enough metal you can overcome the problem of overheating, so im wondering if there is a reason I am not seeing more custom lights with LEDs attached to enormous hunks of metal and/or more fan...

    Custom homemade XHP70 Flashlight/Worklight/Spotlight I made

Oh, and before anyone asks, I figure someone will be curious anyway, the reason the wiring is external from the head down is because like I said this is my first serious attempt, and until I am completely sure that the device as configured runs no risk, under any circumstances of getting hot...

    Custom homemade XHP70 Flashlight/Worklight/Spotlight I made

How do I embed them? I tried both the forums own tool and Flickr's link for sharing, I just assumed it was something to do with me being a new member, I guess for now I will just have to post the normal web links Here is a link to the entire flickr album...

Simplest modifications for D cell Maglites

I have been looking around on Craigslist and offerup, apparently these flashlights have like zero resale, I am picking up a 6-D cell version today for $10(I dont know if people regard them as having no value at all, but just getting someone to drive out to meet me is worth that much I figure)...

    Custom homemade XHP70 Flashlight/Worklight/Spotlight I made

I dont even know what I would classify this as. A few years ago I started messing around with installing custom LEDs in my car, and then my work from there kinda just moved in the direction of ultra high power LEDs. This unit is the first attempt I have made at an actual usable unit. I do a lot...
